Dutch SMES on the visor of cyber criminals. Do a security test now!

The newspapers are full of them. Data leakage at the UWV and the national Opera. But also many of our own customers suffer from hackers who try to get in all kinds of devious ways on the corporate network or in mailboxes of employees.

Lately, we have seen many attacks on companies that use Office 365. This can sometimes have nasty consequences: from a customer who suddenly had thousands of euros poorer to a customer where the address book was spammed with malware. It is becoming a reality of everyday life.

However, there are still many companies that are still not really aware of protection against hacks and malware.

Fake emails from Microsoft

A commonly used method of professional hackers is to perform massive email bombardments on a database with existing business Mailadressen from a fake email address. The mails appear in everything on an official Microsoft service email – but lead through a link to a fake website where login details and passwords need to be entered to install a particular update.

If you make the mistake of logging in to such a fake website, it sometimes only takes a few seconds for the program to hack, Leeggetrokken, or corrupt your entire account (mailbox, files, etc.).

Initially, SMES were disregarded as the target group of cyber criminals. But now that SMES are increasingly active in the Cloud, you can see that the smaller companies are also being hacked massively.

This year already we have seen a few companies knocking with big issues in the field of cyber crime.

Two Factor authentication and a virus scanner

Many companies think it’s okay if they work in the Microsoft or Google Cloud. But against nepmails you only do something with a good virus scanner and a continuous vigilance of your employees. CloudConnected has a special training program for employees.

But we also offer two relatively simple solutions to protect your employees from the tactics of hackers:

Two Factor Authentication (the login to your online account must always double, via a code sent to your phone) and the Advanced Threath Protection from Microsoft. The latest solution is an up-to-date virus scanner from Microsoft that automatically traces every fake link and suspicious attachment that comes in via the mail.

Your employees cannot even open a dangerous link, although they would like it.

These two tools cost together 7 euros per employee per month. You might want to avoid all the hassles that a datalek can entail. Still unrelated to any loss of sensitive data or rogue bank transactions, you must officially report a Datalek to the consumer and Market Authority (ACM). A lot of paperwork that you’d rather save yourself.

Do you want to avoid this?

Request our CloudConnected security scan for free – we’ll check if your online security is well regulated.
